LWA Members Are Encouraged to Ride Solo
Members of LWA,
As the Coronavirus cases keeps rising in Pennsylvania. I wanted to reach out to each of you to remind LWA Members that Governor Wolf has put in place general guidance for Pennsylvanians: Stay home as much as possible. Try to get groceries once per week, instead of daily. Freedom of travel remains, but please refrain from non-essential travel. Essential travel includes things like commuting to an essential job, picking up supplies like groceries and medicine, and checking on family and pets in other households. DO NOT HOST or ATTEND GATHERINGS.
LWA family, this DO NOT HOST or ATTEND GATHERINGS is what concerns me most. Riding Solo is the best practice during the COVID19 outbreak. It is really important for all members to stop and think, meeting up with a friend, two, three or four, is not a great choice at this time. Riding with others not in your household is a HIGH RISK, and certainly not one I will be taking. Please be safe and follow guidelines. I am concerned for your well being, and as PA State cases keep rising, it is being found that many are not restricting gatherings. In Italy, Spain and France, restrictions were placed on leisure cycling and cycling to work or to shop. For now, I want to keep riding during the COVID19 outbreak, so I am encouraging all LWA Members to ride SOLO or with members of your household.
If we stay safe now, there will be plenty of time to host, gather, and ride in groups later in the year. Please be Safe and Ride Solo!
See you on the roads,
Roberta Kates
LWA President
